Coal tar deep processing (English name processing of coal tar) refers to the process of separating the complex composition coal tar obtained from coal through high-temperature carbonization process into chemical and energy products through chemical and physical processing. The deep processing of coal tar is an important part of modern coal chemical industry and one of the effective ways of comprehensive utilization of coal. The coal tar deep processing device is a supporting device for the production of metallurgical coke by high-temperature carbonization and coking of coal.

my country is a major producer of coal and metallurgical coke. The output of coal tar is more than 10 million tons per year. Therefore, deep processing of coal tar occupies an important position in my country's industry.
Coal tar is a dark brown viscous liquid, which is mainly a mixture of various aromatic hydrocarbons. It has more than 10,000 different chemical compositions, and there are more than 200 useful components in it. Therefore, its separation and purification process is a complex system engineering involving many technologies.
The chemicals obtained during the deep processing of coal tar are the basic raw materials for synthetic plastics, synthetic fibers, pesticides, dyes, medicines, coatings, additives and fine chemical products. Many of these products are not available in petrochemical industry. Therefore, deep processing of coal tar can promote the development of these industries, improve resource utilization, benefit environmental protection, and develop circular economy.
Coal tar is an oily mixture obtained by dry distillation of coal. According to different production processes, it can be divided into high-temperature tar, low-temperature tar and gasification tar.
(1) High-temperature tar: Bituminous coal is coked in a coking oven, and the final heating temperature is about 1000°C, and the tar is obtained after complex secondary thermal cracking. The yield is about 3~5% of dry coal.
(2) Low-temperature tar: Bituminous coal, lignite, peat, and oil shale are heated in a retort furnace, and the final temperature does not exceed 600°C. The coal tar obtained by the secondary thermal cracking reaction has little influence. For bituminous coal, the general yield is 7 ~10%;
(3) Gasification tar: tar obtained when lignite or bituminous coal is gasified in a moving bed gasifier.
